Don’t Ignore God’s Assignment for You

Hey Glowers!

Today I had an appointment with a client who I’m so proud of. She’s creating a brand to empower the youth. She hired me to do her marketing collateral and she shared a lot of her journey with me for the past 2 months that I was grateful she shared with me. Of all the setbacks, disappointments and no’s she got from people while organizing this event, she kept going and was determined to see her project to the finish line because of her assignment from God. Today is her inaugural event in her hometown and she’ll be teaching young girls about AIDS awareness and prevention, proper nutrition and life skills. She said that there was no one in her small hometown who had ever had a big event like this and she wanted to reach out to them and show the girls that she cares. Now imagine how blessed those girls are going to be to receive information and love from her!

I got inspired by that because I’m also working on my #GoandGlowKidsandTeens platform and I understand that as much as I love working with women, I also have to continue to reach back to our young girls and empower them. Mentoring and teaching kids has always been a HUGE part of my existence, and I know it’s one of those things that’s innate for me. But with all of the other components of my marketing and branding business and with the podcast and the blog – I’ve somehow managed to ignore what I think will probably be one of the most important and urgent assignments from God for me – to speak wisdom, love and truth into the kids.

Working with my client and seeing how relentless she was to make this event happen today because of her mission to carry out God’s assignment really made me want to share that with you … and hopefully inspire you to not forget or ignore your assignment from God for your life.

god's assignment for you

So, what is it? Have you already shared it with me? Have you ever thought about what it is? We have several assignments from God, but what is that ONE that HE wants to use you for to impact the world? What are you letting get in the way of not getting done? Relationships? Social life? Married life? Motherhood? Work? That bomb salary and paid vacation? I hope not. I shared this on Facebook about letting that job get in the way of your assignment:

Today I’m blogging about God promising you way more than a matched 401k, a $100,000 salary and a week’s vacation to Hawaii. You have to learn to not get comfortable with that raise or promotion or the paid vacations, and you have to really figure out what’s going to make YOU happy and how you can impact the world with your own business. You have amazing ideas. You have opinions that matter. And what you have to offer the world will make a difference. You have to believe that and be convicted of it. You deserve an abundant life. Don’t get too comfortable and too proud of yourself. Know that you could be making 10x the amount you’re making now doing something that comes from your heart. And you could be making 10x the impact on people who could benefit from your gifts. So don’t forget to work on your own business while you’re working for someone else. God gave YOU an assignment. Don’t ignore it.

Signed,

The Girl Who’s Working on Her Assignment from God with The Go and Glow Project.

I just felt compelled to share that during working hours with my personal friends and family because a lot of them may sit at work and scroll Facebook, bored, wishing they didn’t have to do that meaningless job. And a lot of them may have amazing, purposeful, good-paying jobs but just not purposeful for what they want to do from their own hearts. So, I’m sharing the status with you with the intention to get you to think about your assignment and be aware of what you’re here to do on this Earth. And beg you to realize how urgent it is to start on it … NOW!

Podcast Episode 013: My Mirror and Me with Madison Sampson

Hey Glowers!

This is a very special episode of Go and Glow! As part of the new Go and Glow Kids & Teens program that I’m launching, I’m bringing younger girls and teens onto the platform to share their entrepreneurial and inspirational journeys, and I’m going to be building a community for them to learn about personal development and creative entrepreneurship with courses, workshops and products from the Go and Glow Academy.

So, how exciting is it that my first kidpreneur and guest is a dynamic, 4 year-old author named Madison Sampson who wrote a book called My Mirror and Me: I Can Be Anything I Want to Be! Madison was born prematurely and was in the NICU for 83 days while doctors told her mother, Realtor and Entrepreneur Kye Sampson, that running, jumping and becoming a ballerina would be almost impossible for Madi because of her benign paroxymal veritgo of childhood condition (BPVC). But Madi has defeated all odds and is an energetic, active and creative entrepreneur who teaches other children in her book that they shouldn’t be defined by what other people tell them they can’t do. Vicariously through the princess, astronaut and other characters in My Mirror and Me – Madi shows how children can be anything they want to be if they use their imagination and define themselves by what they make of their reflections in the mirror and through positive self-esteem. She hopes to empower kids to believe in themselves and to not let society put limitations on them. Amazing, right!?

My Mirror and Me: I Can Be Anything I Want to Be can be purchased on Amazon here and will officially launch on March 21, 2015, which also happens to be 2 days after her 5th birthday! Madison is having a book signing in Sugarland, TX at the Brilliant Sky Toys and Books Store on the same day as the launch from 2-3pm.

You can follow the book and the My Mirror and Me organization on Facebook, Instagram and on their website.

Podcast Episode 011: To the Moon and Back with Author Chaneta Forts

Hey Glowers!

In this episode, author, singer and songwriter, Chaneta Forts, talks about her new children’s book “Moon, Moon, Moon! Did You Brush Your Teeth?”  She also shares how singing and touring around the world with some of the most famous people has inspired her to keep dreaming BIG and to keep creating content that inspires the world. Chaneta was inspired to write Moon after she had a conversation with her son, Justin, who innocently pointed out and asked had the yellow moon brushed his teeth! Cute, right? She says she wanted to use this special moment to teach other children the importance of dental hygiene, so she wrote the book – and as a bonus she recorded a 2 minute song for children to listen to and brush their teeth along with it!

Listen as Chaneta shares her plans to expand her book empire and other projects she’s working on. You can purchase the book on Amazon, or at http://moonbrushyourteeth.com/. You can also like the page on Facebook and keep up with future announcements and workshops here.
